Here is your opportunity to serve as the Brooksville Headquarters' main point of contact for internal and external customers and incoming calls. You will be responsible for general switchboard duties, including routing calls correctly and providing basic information. This position also includes additional administrative functions and record keeping. The Receptionist is also responsible for special projects such as coordinating the District's Speakers Bureau program and providing additional support to the Communications and Board Services Bureau as needed. You'll have the chance to work with a wide range of teams in this promising position, each of which play a vital role in our efforts to preserve our most valuable natural resources.       Compensation:Administrative Support Specialist 2 $27,331.20 - $30,553.06
      Administrative Support Specialist 3 $29,681.60 - $33,000.00

      The starting salary range are included for the Administrative Support Specialist profile which reflects the minimum to approximately 20.3% of the respective pay grades. The starting salary will be based on the education and experience of the successful candidate. The District conducts annual performance evaluations that may award applicable pay increases based on positive employee performance.

      Essential Functions
      • Welcome and log guests and notify staff of appointment arrivals
      • Clearly communicate in both spoken and written forms
      • Enthusiastic, professional and able to handle frustrated customers
      • General switchboard duties of routing calls correctly and independently solving problems and questions
      • Maintain lobby and restock educational materials
      • Coordinate the District's Speakers Bureau Program; including serving as the District representative to outside groups and securing a speaker for special events and other requests
      • Monitor the Speakers Bureau email account and calendar to oversee volunteer and speaking engagement requests
      • Maintain inventory tracking of visitor badges
      • Maintain database of staff and departmental phone numbers
      • Provide assistance to the Communications and Board Services Bureau as needed Working Conditions

        Physical, Visual Acuity Requirements:Sedentary Work, Close Acuity, Fingering, Grasping, Talking, Hearing, Repetitive Motion.Work activity is primarily sedentary with ability to perform continuous repetitive tasks (to include keyboarding) with one or both hands. This position requires the ability to continuously lift and carry objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and carry up to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift and carry up to 70 pounds. Must be able to frequently bend and reach above shoulder level; with the occasional need to squat, crawl or climb. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

        Employee may be subject to call-in outside of regularly scheduled work hours, or required to be on call, including on nights, weekends or holidays, to respond to emergency management activities or other incidents requiring rapid response in support of District operations.

        Required Credentials for Receptionist Opportunity

        Administrative Support Specialist 2
        • High school diploma or equivalent
        • Two (2) years related work experience in customer service, receptionist and/or administrative work experience
        • Valid driver's license Administrative Support Specialist 3
          • High school diploma or equivalent
          • Three (3) years related work experience in customer service, receptionist and/or administrative work experience
          • Valid driver's license Preferred Credentials for Receptionist Opportunity
            • Experience operating multi-line phone system or Microsoft Teams Voice
            • Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, experience
            • Experience working for a governmental agency/public entity

              Additional Details

              This position is typically scheduled to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, out of the Brooksville, FL office. This position is eligible for overtime for hours worked over 40 hours, in a week.

              Yes. Some travel, using District vehicle, within District's coverage area.
