Job Description:
Position: Server Department : Culinary FLSA Classification: Non-
Exempt Summary of Position The Server plays an integral role in the
success of our team, our community and creating a place our
residents are proud to call home. The primary purpose of this
position i s to provide residents and guests with the best possible
dining experience and deliver Platinum Service ® with each
interaction. Essential Job Functions Serve meals that are palatable
and appetizing in appearance. Serve food in accordance with
established portion control procedures. Distribute and collect
menus as necessary. Ta ke meal orders, serve food and beverages,
and answer questions regarding the menu. Follow sanitary
regulations at all times. Provide Platinum Service with each dining
experience. Set up meal trays, food carts and set up the dining
room with utensils, salt and pepper, napkins, and clean common
areas prior and after meals are served. Assist in checking resident
trays before distribution. Pour hot and cold beverages for
residents. Assist residents with opening their containers and
condiments as needed. Pay special attention to resident and guest
needs while they are enjoying their dining experience. Prepare and
deliver snacks to special events and parties hosted at the
community. Bus tables during and after the meals. Provide support
services to other dining rooms, during events and activities as
needed. C lean dining room area according to the cleaning schedules
and assignments. Perform other job-related duties as assigned .
Knowledge and Critical Skills Be able to make independent decisions
and follow instructions . D eal tactfully with personnel,
residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel,
and the public. Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and
emotionally upset people within the facility. Communicate in a
manner that is sufficient for effective communication with
supervisors, team members , residents, and families. Education and
Experience Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements
for this position. Food service and/or hospitality experience
preferred Supervisory Responsibility This position does not have
direct reports or supervisory requirements. Working Conditions and
Physical Demands Tasks assigned to this position may involve
potential and/or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious
diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals. Physical
Requirements - The Physical activities of this position involve:
Must be able to frequently lift /carry 30 lbs. and occasionally
lift/carry 5 0 lbs. at times Must be able to frequently push/pull
up to 30 lbs. and occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Bending/twisting /stooping Reaching at or below the shoulder
Frequently standing or walking Cognitive Requirements - The
Cognitive activities with or without prosthetics of this position
are: Executes tasks independently Ability to express yourself
clearly and effectively Environmental Requirements - An individual
in this position may be exposed to: May be exposed to heat from
