Job Description Job Description – Section Coordinator (Clinical Laboratory) We are seeking an experienced Section Coordinator to join a hospital-based clinical laboratory team on a full-time night shift schedule with rotating weekends. This role is ideal for a senior Medical Technologist who combines strong technical expertise with leadership, quality oversight, and staff development responsibilities. The Section Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring accurate, timely laboratory testing while supporting regulatory compliance, workflow efficiency, and team performance in an acute-care environment. Key Responsibilities Perform and prioritize STAT, routine, and specialized laboratory testing Analyze patient specimens using manual and automated laboratory systems Conduct and document quality control (QC) procedures in accordance with established protocols Ensure adherence to CAP, CLIA, and other regulatory standards Assist the Laboratory Manager/Supervisor with daily operations and staffing support Support training, onboarding, and competency assessments for laboratory personnel Delegate testing based on patient acuity, staff competency, and productivity guidelines Monitor workflow and communicate operational updates to laboratory leadership Lead by example, fostering teamwork, accountability, and a patient-focused culture Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with departmental policies Required Qualifications Associate Degree in Science (Required) Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field (Preferred) Active State of Florida Technologist Supervisory License (Required) ASCP or equivalent certification (Preferred) Minimum 3 years of experience as a Medical Technologist Prior experience in a hospital or acute-care laboratory environment Strong understanding of laboratory regulations, QC, and compliance standards Schedule & Compensation Schedule: Full-Time | Nights | Rotating Weekends Compensation: $32.62 – $48.93/hour , based on experience Section Coordinator, Medical Technologist Supervisor, Clinical Laboratory, Hospital Lab, Night Shift, ASCP, Florida Lab Jobs, CAP Compliance, CLIA, Laboratory Leadership, Acute Care Laboratory
