What you'll be working on...
- Coordinating short and long term directives of the
Transportation and Technical departments
- Supporting the enterprise initiatives of the General Manager
and in support of the Technical and Transportation Supervisors to
ensure continuity of day-to-day fleet operations.
- Professionalism at all levels including effective supervision
skills, coaching, mentoring, process management and improvement,
budgetary tracking, strategic planning, decision-making and
maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
- Implementing best management practices (BMPs) as it relates to
adjacent regulatory bodies.
- Acting as the lead in implementing key fleet up-fitting
decisions.
- Developing and enforcing equipment maintenance
planning.
- Maintaining an acute awareness of technological trends to
continuously improve processes.
- Responding to and deploying resources to support emergency, and
routine incident management with the ability to recommend course of
action.
- Ensuring all of Department's vehicles, equipment and tool
servicing schedule is upheld.
- Seeking out and assisting with the implementation of new or
innovative technologies.
- Preparing and managing department budgets.
- Promoting and ensuring a safe and high quality work environment
for operations personnel through the provision of appropriate
training opportunities and adherence to all appropriate regulations
and best practices in the workplace.
- Performing field inspections of personnel and contractors as
necessary.
- Maintaining knowledge of, promoting, supporting and
participating in Company's employee recognition program.
- Maintaining knowledge of and supporting other Regional
operations.
- Assisting or leading specialized projects.
- Assisting with other projects and duties as assigned.
- Maintaining knowledge of and supporting the Company's brand
values.
Who you are...
- Able to direct work tasks and activities in a safe and
conscientious manner.
- Proficient in the use of standard business software (Microsoft
Word, Excel and Windows).
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Sciences preferred, or
combination of education and supervisory experience.
- Three to five years of related management experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
- Proficient mathematical and reasoning skills.
- Advanced level of understanding of natural gas utility
operating philosophy.
- Conscientious work ethic.
- Excellent customer contact skills.
- Knowledgeable in safe operation of tools and equipment
including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Knowledgeable of Company safety rules, regulations, procedures
and policies.
- Knowledgeable of CFR 192, FMCSA, PHMSA, OSHA, etc.
requirements.
- Advanced level of mechanical aptitude.
- Supervisory and management skills.
- Valid Driver's License.
Where you'll be working:
- Office environment and working around construction sites while
performing site evaluations and other field tasks.
- Working around hazardous / flammable products.
- Occasional out of town overnight travel.
- Ability to receive emergency calls 24 hours a day.
- Ability to participate in and meet DOT drug test
requirements.
