Job Description:

Brand Manager of Innovation The Brand Manager of Innovation is responsible for supporting the Sr. Director of Innovation in exploring, planning, developing and executing hair and whitespace category opportunities from conception through formulation and launch. Using strong analytical skills, the Brand Manager drives the cross-functional innovation process, executing the development of whitespace innovation and leading the creation of the innovation toolkits incorporating key consumer insights and product benefits to deliver to the Go To Market team for launch.
Responsibilities--- Explore hair, white space and blue-sky innovation ideas, recommending profitable opportunities in new benefit spaces, formats, adjacent and brand new categories. --- Own the P&L, COGS assumptions, size of prize and product forecasting for product development.--- Manage the artwork reviewal and approval process ensuring INCI, regulatory and product spec processes are followed. --- Conduct competitive landscape assessments by utilizing custom and syndicated consumer and market research to understand market opportunities, consumer trends, the competitive environment and consumer needs and to determine the potential for new product concepts.--- Partner with cross-functional team to help drive new product development through Exploration, Feasibility and Launch Gates. --- Partner with project manager to manage third party manufacturers and suppliers throughout the development process. --- Partner with R&D to manage the product claims process including managing third party claims testing facilities.--- Brief R&D and fragrance houses on fragrance direction for all new product development. --- Manage key aspects of the product development (PD) process as primary liaison with Go To Market, Sales, R&D and Supply Chain and collaborate with cross-functional work groups, to deliver on-time production. --- Partner with Sr. Director on developing differentiated product positioning for new products, concept testing, defining the target consumer and developing key product claims for deployment to the Go to Market team.
Requirements

  • Strong analytical and market research skills
  • Experience using Nielsen/IRI for volume forecasting and competitive analyses
  • Experience managing third party manufacturers
  • Experience managing through a Gate process for product development
  • Experience in a global design marketing role developing new product innovation and partnering closely with R&D, supply chain and regional marketing teams
  • Communicating effectively with key cross functional stakeholders to build internal and external facing relationships
  • Enhancing team atmosphere with positivity and a solutions-oriented mindset
  • Good knowledge of the beauty and hair industry principles and trends
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and online applications
