Job Description
We are currently seeking a Project Manager, Engineering reporting to the Director, Engineering. This position will be responsible for managing multiple capital projects not to exceed $50MM and travel between sites expected.
Key responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
--- Act as main focal point between the cross-functional project team including but not limited to the factory team, procurement, logistics, planning, legal, etc.
--- Conceptual scope development, project briefs, overall program development, define key resource needs and project timeline
--- Development of an execution strategy, cost development, preliminary schedule development, evaluating project and engineering alternatives
--- Drive the due diligence process, oversee and authorize RFP and resource procurement and equipment purchases, contractor bidding process, contractor selection, contract negotiation and procurement
--- Work with internal & external design groups for all design specifications and drawing packages (IFBR, IFB, IFBC and IFR)
--- Develop and implement bid cycle for mechanical, electrical, piping and construction projects
--- and lead bid events on site
--- Create and complete credit submission in Capital Management Tool
--- Lead all construction and installation efforts assuring safe, timely, and quality construction methods and means are followed
--- Assure the development and execution of a detailed commissioning plan and start-up process
--- Manage the start-up and qualification phases of the project and support of the verification phase.
--- Provide capital forecasting needs and guidance in detail schedule development for each project
--- Lead meetings (estimate, kick-off, review) with appropriate stakeholders and periodic reporting of all projects (frequency is site and project specific)
--- Develop and maintain project timeline throughout the life cycle of the project
--- Manage project documentation throughout the project life cycle inside the Capital Management Tool. Documentation includes but is not limited to Change Management, Risk Management, Punchlist, Project Reporting, Safety Reporting and Timeline updates.
--- Meet with factory teams for sign-off of each stage of project acceptance and ensure proper hand-over and close-out of each project in a timely manner.
--- Schedule and lead Lessons Learned meetings for each project to ensure success in future projects.
--- Create new assets and sub-assets for each project and ensure timely settlement of AUC's.
Qualifications
Key qualifications for this position include but are not limited to:
--- Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred and/or related field experience
--- 5+ years project management engineering experience in a high-speed consumer packaging industry (Beverage, Food or Pharmaceutical) highly preferred
--- Strong negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to reach win-win solutions with internal and external partners
--- Effective written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to build relationships
--- Demonstrated success in project management, problem solving, continuous improvement and achieving metrics
--- Excellent follow-up skills with a customer focused approach
--- Ability to travel 25-40% domestically to visit plants and vendors/partners
--- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Word and PowerPoint and experienced analysis capabilities utilizing Excel and Access
--- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
