    • Boasts a reputation for superior health care and quality service Job Summary: The Patient Financial Services Specialist is an Outstanding call center customer service and collections representative with experience and knowledge in physician, laboratory, ASC billing and medical insurance. Delivers outstanding customer service by effectively and efficiently resolving billing questions/disputes and collecting patient balances.
      • Essential Functions of the Position Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role required.
        Researches billing disputes. Demonstrates knowledge of insurance processing guidelines and uses knowledge to explain EOBs and patient balances to patients.
        • Initiates simple corrections on accounts when balances are incorrect.
        • Escalates trends to supervisor.
        • Escalates complex problem accounts to Patient Receivables Team .
        • Receives calls from patients/guarantors to answer questions regarding their account. Uses applications and programs appropriately to communicate with various internal departments to obtain or clarify facts regarding patient care as it relates to billing and collections
          • Makes outbound calls to guarantors to initiate collections on outstanding balances. Calls patients to follow up with results and answers that required time to research.
            • Collects Patient Balances Exceeds monthly quota.
              Explains balances to patients, initiates payment plans and collects outstanding balances.Physical and Mental Demands:
              • Normal physical ability; able to sit for long periods
              • Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
              • High level verbal and written communication skills
              • Ability to diffuse a difficult situation, i.e. upset callersJob Qualifications:
                • High school graduate or GED equivalent
                • Medical collections and insurance experience
                • Outstanding customer service skills
                • Possesses keen time management skills
                • Maintains a positive outlook at all times
                • Results driven
                • Self-motivated to excel
                • Outstanding telephone etiquette
                • Excellent computer literate/typing skills
                • Common knowledge of collection laws.
                  Physical and Mental Demands:
                  • Normal physical ability; able to sit for long periods
                  • Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
                  • High level verbal and written communication skills
                  • Ability to diffuse a difficult situation, i.e. angry patients
                    Job Qualifications:
                    • High school graduate or GED equivalent
                    • Medical collections and insurance experience
                    • Strong customer service skills
                    • Self starter
                    • Excellent telephone etiquette
                    • Computer literate/typing skills
